Cambridge ’Our Lady of the Poor’ Fraternity Profession – Saturday 30th September 2017

Patricia Bridgeford ofs (centre in photo) a member of the Cambridge ‘Our Lady of the Poor’ Fraternity, made her profession to Peter Qualey ofs, Fraternity Minister, on Saturday 30th September. This was witnessed by Fr Patrick Lonsdale OFM during the East Anglian Regional Day of Recollection Mass held at Our Lady Immaculate & St Etheldreda Church, Newmarket.

Norwich ‘Pax et Bonum’ Fraternity Profession – Saturday 20th May 2017

Three members of the Norwich ‘Pax et Bonum’ Fraternity – Jim Powell ofs, Brigid Rawlinson ofs, and Samuel Ayalo Tassili ofs – made their professions to Rob Hardie ofs, Fraternity Minister. This was witnessed by Fr Patrick Lonsdale OFM during the East Anglian Regional Day of Recollection Mass held at St George’s Church, Norwich, on Saturday 20th May 2017 – the Memoria of St Bernardine of Siena.

The East Anglian Region held an Elective Chapter at Our Lady Immaculate & St Etheldreda Church, Newmarket, on Saturday 18th March 2017.

Betsy Harte ofs, Southern Region Minister, presided at the Chapter elections which were witnessed by Fr Patrick Lonsdale OFM, National Spiritual Assistant.

The Chapter elected the following Executive Officers for the Regional Council:

Minister: Debbie Bool ofs (Norwich ‘Pax et Bonum’ Fraternity)

Vice Minister: Chris Housden ofs (Ipswich ‘Blessed John Duns Scotus’ Fraternity)

Formation Minister: Jaci Matos Agarwala ofs (Cambridge ‘Our Lady of the Poor’ Fraternity)

Secretary: David Gleave ofs (Ipswich ‘Blessed John Duns Scotus’ Fraternity)

Treasurer: Edwin Edwards ofs (Ipswich ‘Blessed John Duns Scotus’ Fraternity)

Presence in the World: Chris Whittam ofs (Cambridge ‘Our Lady of the Poor’ Fraternity)

We give thanks and gratitude to those who served on the Regional Executive from 2014 to 2017.

Saturday 17th September 2016:  Professions: Ipswich Fraternity

Two members of the Ipswich ‘Blessed John Duns Scotus’ Fraternity – Claire Lamont-Buxton ofs and Chris Housden ofs – made their professions to Edwin Edwards ofs, Fraternity Minister, this was witnessed by Fr Patrick Lonsdale OFM during the East Anglian Regional Day of Recollection Mass held at Our Lady of Light & St Osyth Church, Clacton-on-Sea, on Saturday 17th September 2016 – the Feast of St Francis’ Stigmata. Fr Patrick was assisted at the concelebrated Mass by Canon Peter Connor ofs, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Light & St Osyth Parish, who is a member of the Clacton ‘Our Lady of Light’ Fraternity.

Street Passion Play in Bedford

A Street Passion Play was enacted in Bedford on Holy Saturday 26th March 2016, with Michael Simmonds ofs, of the Bedford fraternity, portraying the character of Caiaphas.

Second priest professed in East Anglian fraternity

Sunday 7th February 2016: Fr. Frank Jackson ofs joins Canon Peter Connor ofs as a professed member of the Clacton ‘Our Lady of Light’ Fraternity.
