Dear Brothers and Sisters
May the Lord give you his peace!
What a precious greeting that is that Francis has shared with us. Oh, what it is to have peace in our hearts for this is where peace begins, not outside us in the world but inside, in our own selves. For when we have peace in our hearts, we can share peace with others.
Too often what happens around us or has happened before, in our families, in our fraternity, in our community can threaten our peace.
Our Blessed Mother in Medjugorje, a Franciscan parish, says “without prayer there is no peace. Therefore, I say to you dear children, pray at the foot of the cross for peace.”
This is where we find Francis, our vocation, charism and mission, at the foot of the cross with our blessed mother. So let us begin again today to pray for peace, beginning with peace in our own hearts, so that the peace will spread through the world.
And let us begin again to do as Jesus reminds us in Luke 10,“ whatever house you go into, let your first words be, peace to this house .“ Let us take this to heart and begin again to share peace in our world.
Today as we remember the life of our Seraphic Father Francis let us remember how often he prayed for peace and how well he understood that call. And let us also take time to pause, to pray and consider our own vocation as Franciscans.
With peace and all good

Happy and blessed feast day 🌹🙏
What a great message. In these strange times we need more love, compassion and understanding instead of all the anger, hatred and greed.
Love and peace to all.
